I’ve heard the phrase “Blondes have more fun” and these days I am contemplating testing it out.

I went grey at the age of 15, and when the other kids in school started to notice my grey hair, my mom took me to the salon for my first hair color.

Over the years, I have gone between brown, red, auburn, highlights and everything in between.

In fact, I think part of who I am is rooted in the fact that I am constantly changing my hair!

In the last 6 months, I have made a huge effort to detoxify my home environment, and beauty products, however the one thing that I just haven’t considered changing is my hair color.

My hair is one of those things that I am just set on.  When finances are tough, I still have my hair done.  When I have removed all the chemicals from my life, I keep the hair.

It is just one of those things that feels like an ultimate priority to me.

Lately, I have been thinking about highlights, and after reading this article, I am doing it!

I LOVE the articles in the Complimentary Prescriptions newsletters.  I have found some amazing information in them and the article called “dying to be beautiful” (link here) recently struck a cord with me.

I think it is important to keep everything in perspective and also to note that there is so much research out there.  My opinion is that you could find a research study to support any position you take.

That being said, if there are some options that are a safer than others, why not go that direction?

So… blonde it is!

What is your opinion on hair color and how safe it is?  Do you find the perspective and recommendations in the article to be valid?
