You know the saying ” That’s just how the cookie crumbles” ?

I like it for two reasons:

1.  It has to do with cookies.  I love cookies.

2.  It is just so true.

I will be the first to admit that when you are in a moment and it is all so emotionally charged, it is so hard to see anything else.

I am such a drama queen.

I think the thing that has been hardest for me over the course of the last few years has been having to admit that we can’t do something because we just can’t afford it.

And it’s all a matter of priorities.  Some things have to trump others.

“That’s just how the cookie crumbles…”

Again- Cookies and Truth.  A great combo.

So I eat some cookies (of the girl scout variety right now… yum!) and accept things the way they are.

This is one of my favorite quotes, from one of my favorite books.  “Momma Zen: Walking the Crooked Path of Motherhood” by Karen Maezen Miller

” With time, your roots grow deep and your branches long.  You lean a little less backward in fear and a little less forward in doubt, resting solidly where you are.  When the wind blows, you bend.  When it stops, you straighten.  Your boughs provide shelter and shade.  Your strength supports the sky.  Sitting quietly, doing nothing, spring comes and grass grows by itself.   Your baby will be o.k.”

Love that.  Pretty much sums it up.

What decisions have you had to make lately when the cookie just had to crumble?
