GelGems (I love them) on train.

All this talk about finding my calling, my purpose the “thing” to fill me up and this week- I think I found it.  Well, not “it”… but it is defnitely calling to me, that’s for sure.

Yes.  Milk, Dark, with Caramel… Love.

For most, this would not be the craziest confession, but for me it is like my dirty little secret.

Why?  You ask…

Maddox is not only “spirited”, but he also has been suffering from severe and debilitating Migraine headaches since he was 18 months old.  It has been quite a wild ride with diagnosis etc… but I digress.  We will save that for another post.  My husband (not-so) coincidentally suffers as well from Migraines and Ulcerative Colitis to boot (he is quite the wonderful mess!).

So my latest journey, of the culinary variety, begins without gluten, chocolate or peanuts- yikes!  Chocolate and peanuts are a major trigger food for both my son and husband, so carob and sunflower butter have become the new staples in our lives.  The good news is that I like carob and my Brayden (my older, non- migraine suffering son) does also.

But carob is not Chocolate.  And today, this mama is being called by the cacao.

When I hear people talk about “finding their calling” often times they will say they “just knew it felt right” or they had recurring dreams about “it”.

I can honestly say that today, my salted carmel mocha from Starbucks absolutely felt right and I know I will dream about it tonight… ( I guess I should mention the oreos and hot chocolate last night and the brownie the night before.  See it IS calling me!)

Stay tuned for reports of my progress in the kitchen and chalk this one up to yet another new hat for this mama:
