Life is just a bowl full of cherries.
That is how the saying goes, but we all know that life is real and isn’t always perfect.
That being said, there are always things to be thankful for.
In June of this year, I decided that every night before going to bed, I would reflect on the things that I was thankful for.
It’s not that I don’t realize all the wonderful things in my life, but I think we all lose sight of the little things that make life amazing on a daily basis.
It is now something that we all talk about every night before bed and we have a ritual of asking the boys every night what they were thankful for that day. Brent and I have also enjoyed reflecting every night.
When looking back on my little book of thoughts, I have noticed that for all of us we have a pattern of things that we are grateful for daily. Of course there are the random things interjected like toys and ipads… but mostly I have seen the same items come up over and over again.
For me those things are:
Our health, my children, my husband, my garden and good healthy food, and my parents.
For Brent:
Me ( awww…), the boys, and whatever I cooked for dinner that night that was yummy
Brayden:
Being alive… ( that is something he says every night), playdates with friends
Maddox:
playing with friends, tv shows (when he gets to watch them)
It is so interesting to see what we are all thankful for and to realize daily that it is really the everyday things that are so big
What are the little daily things in your life that make it wonderful?

Definitely my husband and my cat. Out cute, little, cozy apartment.
This is such a good idea! At the moment I’m grateful for the balance in my life: family, studying and creative projects. Of course, I couldn’t enjoy any of these without good health, too
All wonderful things to be thankful for!! It does keep it all in perspective
